Magazines ...

Magazines ... what do you do with them?

I've recently undertaken a MASSIVE clear out of my study / office.  Yes, I should think so after all the times I'm urging everyone else to clear out 'stuff.'

I came across this anonymous quote during the process of throwing out ... a ridiculous amount of magazines ...

'The more you own, the more compelled you'll be to keep ridiculous quantities of obsolete and trashy magazines.'

Well, mine are all in the bin now and I have a whole shelf free ... wonder what to do with that .......... ? ... ? ... ?

Enjoy your Easter clear-out,

Jill

Put Colour in Your Cheeks ...

We get busy don't we ... We've been indoors for the Winter ... lost a bit of Colour ... forget to keep on top of ourselves for a nano-second ...

So instead of putting Colour ON your cheeks, let's put Colour IN your cheeks ...

Try these feel-good quick fixes to sick-start your beautifying journey towards summer ...
Put Colour in your Cheeks
1. Laugh a Lot ! When we laugh - we relax the diaphragm [this usually tenses when we're worried or stressed] ~ Make sure you see friends [especially those with a sense of humour] - or go to see a comedy, funny film or play.

Put Colour in your Cheeks:
2. Go for a brisk walk - whatever the weather.
[A brisk walk will boost circulation and give your cheeks an instant glow]

Put Colour in your Cheeks:
Give your feet a good pummelling. Remember there are pressure points on the feet ... giving them a good massage-type overhaul with a buffer or pumice stone will remove any build up - may help circulation and weirdly, brings colour to your cheeks in the process. Try a Body Shop Foot Buffer [ around £3 ]

Put Colour in your Cheeks:
4. Breathe ...
Sit crossed legged. Drop Chin down. Close Mouth.
Breathe out through nose. Breathe in through your nose. [do both with noisy hissing sound] Take a dozen breaths - keeping them even and gently now.
Get used to making the out-breath' longer [ie twice as long as the in-breath]
* Hope this helps to de-stress you.
...  not that I'm saying you are ... but just in case ...

Put Colour in your Cheeks:
5. Clean
Your ugly places - garage / office / storage space / loft
Do some gardening [even if you don't want to]
Shampoo those stains off the carpet [that someone else probably caused]
Damp cloth the stairs down [isn't that someone else's job?]
Decorate or re-paint something [especially if it involves rubbing paintwork with sandpaper]
Wash ALL the windows in your home - How mind-numbingly boring is that ? - This is sooo boring and such an irritating task, that it's bound to bring colour to your cheeks.
Brush the paths - multi-task here ... you'll be outdoors / burning off calories / doing a useful task / getting the feel-good factor / get to meet the neighbours ...

Oh ... and eat plenty of fruit and veg ... Make home-made soups ... Blend juice drinks ...

Enjoy your Rosy Cheeks,
Jill

Happy Days ...

Hi all,
If you're enjoying a taste of procrastination this morning, please feel free to spend a nano-second popping over to Happy Days [blog in preparation] www.happydayspublsihing.blogspot.com

I'm just about saying Hello there ~ so please pop by and follow me ~ especially so it looks good when I'm searching for agents / publishers / in fact anyone who wants to publish my children's educational and fun stuff.
Thanks, that's very kind of you ...
Gillian

To Gel ... or to Jel ... or not to bother at all ?

Morning everyone,
I really want to yap on this morning about a new-to-me discovery ~ gel nails [jel nails?], mineral foundation and how singing in a choir can just re-energise you soooo much that you end up with ADHD [oh did I have that already? - now I think about it ...] ... But to be honest ... I'd rather brag about finishing my book !! Yes, you heard it right ... finished ! with finishing touches [and prob one or two typos] a cover, and end user[s] and weirdly, an anti-climax ?? Well, I mustn't think of it as the end ... it's just the beginning. Book 2 for educational support is well on it's way ... Yes I realise your eyelids are drooping at this - but it really is enjoyable ... especially when you get to spend half the day sticking, cutting, making collages and sketching !

Just to back-track a little, I've got to say that the singing kind-of gave me a real energy to continue with the writing - and helped with my confidence when I found myself presenting my product [Mainly because we have a great motivational musical director, Tony BW [please stand up - you know who you are]. Tony is definitely Gareth Malone of the North but with fifty million times more energy [we all still love you too Gareth btw]. Tony is sooo inspirational ... and I recommend everyone who's lacking in energy rushes out and joins a choir of some sort [or a gym if you must]. We [the choir] fit work patterns, social stuff, sport, even holidays around choir practise !

Meanwhile, back to the gel nails - wow ! I have french manicure styled finger nails ! A first for me. Brill ! and they stayed on for quite some time [a couple of weeks or so ?] So, I will be able to do the book signing or singing after all.
PS - I haven't found the down-side of gel nails yet ?? All seems good to me.

Foundation ? Maybe we'll save that chat for another day.
See you all later
[let me know any tips for gel nail maintenance ... thanks]
Have a Brilliant Day everyone ...

Jill
Feeling a great need to apologise for [... ]'s and .... [just think they're so useful when being chatty in text, don't you (?)]
