Did you ? Make a list ... make your shopping list for life ... [see previous blogs] ... fill out a new job application, plan a fitness programme, take a walk in the park, clear out the loft or go to the cinema ?

Did you take a really long bath? Go for a jog, make some home-made soup ... book a cheap flight to somewhere inexpensive ... or a month in the Bahamas ?

What I'm saying, is that if you don't plan anything ... the chances are ... you won't be doing much ... Well that's one theory.

So, if you don't make any other plans, climb into your loft, sneak into your garage or empty out that storage cupboard - car-boot season is here ... you know you want to.

Clearing out clutter can help to clear your head as well as your home.

Seriously though, having something to look forward to - no matter how big or small will probably help us to feel better.

Enjoy
Gillian

A Happy Person lives ...

Shopping List for Life

A Happy Person Lives in a Happy Place ...
So - where's that place ?
By now you may have made a list of everything you want, need, wish for in life [ or maybe thought about ? ] ... You've jotted down a few notes about yourself; your achievements, interests, character traits etc ...
After writing with your non-writing hand [see previous blog] you may have discovered a new description of you - a creative side that's emerged ! Something else you can tap in to.

Take some time to think about all the information you've collected - about YOU.
Evaluate what you've achieved so far in your life.
Consider what motivates you - Who/What spurs you on? Drives you? Encourages you?
Decide what you're going to do about it all ...

Unless we're lucky enough to be in the right place at the right time - with the right idea - meeting the right person ... we're probably still be wondering how to achieve more in our lives [more in any sense ... we may need to feel happier, needed or loved ... we may feel we want to be healthy and fit ... achieve more success in our jobs or we could just simply want to be filthy rich or famous - or both ?]

The main point is that people achieve things in their lives - by deciding that they want to achieve things in their lives. They ... Decide to do Something. Decide when and how To Do it. Then ... They Do It. Simple when you break it down.

Don't live with regret ...

Ask yourself again what it is you want to achieve. Select 3 or 4 things you want to achieve.   It doesn't matter how big or small - it could be your dream job, joining a local gym, volunteering at a youth club, joining a choir or going on a healthy eating plan ... You may feel you want to turn your life around ... the choices are endless.
Write the most important at the top of a piece of paper [Lets call it a GOAL]

Underneath your Goal's Title - Make 5 headings:
1. Why I want to achieve this goal [personal/financial/love/health/ other ...]

2. Obstacles [Who/What obstacles stop me - break them down into smaller pieces]

3. Where I could research / get advice / Who I could talk to

4. Motivation  [Who or What really motivates, drives, encourages me]

5. Setbacks [Note problems - what's missing - education - finances - fitness - skills]

6. Plan of Action - List smaller plans - work in stages - towards your Goal

You're right - this is a slow process ... think of it as a Work-In-Progress ...
Add ideas and information beneath the headings.
You could ask someone else to help you - Generate new-to-you ideas.
Work out ways to remove, repair, learn to understand or live with obstacles.
Find ideas and ways to fill or bridge any gaps.

Thing of your Goal - Your Happy Place ...
Get organised - make bullet-points on your Action Plan - keep returning to your plan to change it or add new ideas or material ...

See you soon  - Stay focused on your plans ...

Using your non-writing hand ...

Hi everyone, here's a quick follow on exercise for your Shopping List for Life ...

one more small task before we move on ...

With you NON-WRITING hand ...

and without thinking too long ...

Write down 5 words that describe You.

Now compare them to your previous list [see previous blogs]

Surprised at your responses ? ! ?

I'm hoping that you're seeing words that describe a more creative YOU.

I could go into a long explanation about how the brain works - how thinking and responding to things are operated in different areas of the brain - yes I know you all know that already ... how 85% of the population is right handed - and have left hemisphere language - or about those who are ambidextrous ... and of the 15% who are left handed, 15% have right hemisphere language and 15% have no dominant hemisphere ... but luckily for you - and more so for me, I won't.

I'm just going to assume you've found out something else out about YOU during this non-writing-hand exercise.

Use this new information to allow yourself to tap into other skills and talents or creative area that might be lying dormant in your life.

If the information is asking questions or posing something that you don't like about yourself ... then address the issues. Have a talk to yourself and see what you could change

Finding out More about you can be rewarding - so, see you at the next stage in a couple of days ... we'll start assessing and planning our Shopping Lists ...

Have fun, Gillian

Happiness ...

Saw this the other day and thought of ... everyone ...
